I was scouring the internet last night after arriving at my parent’s house and was shocked at the number of sales that are already happening. I decided to do a little roundup for y’all just in case you want to get a jumpstart on your Black Friday shopping from the comfort of your home 🙂
ALSO! If you missed it, I’m running a giveaway through my Instagram and Facebook page. I’m giving away $50 to one lucky person. All you have to do is head over to those accounts and follow the steps. (Look for the photo below!) The winner will be announced tonight, Wednesday, November 22nd at 9pm! Good luck.
You know those days when you throw on an outfit and you just feel good about yourself? That’s exactly how I felt in this getup. There’s no way on Earth I’m cool enough to pull of leather leggings, but somehow these beauties make me feel like a million bucks. The best part is, they are currently on sale for under $20! In fact, you can grab my entire outfit for under $75!
I was born with hips and thighs. Those are just the facts. There was once a time where I wished them away, thinking I needed to be stick thin and wear a size zero. Years of playing soccer built muscle that would never allow my frame to fit in anything under a size four, and again, I wanted something different. Maybe it’s my age, or becoming a mom, or watching my body grow and snap back after pregnancy, but I’m starting to embrace what God gave me and soccer helped to form. A little bit of curve never hurt anyone 😉
That being said, these leggings don’t only make me look good, but they make me feel good, too. I’m wearing a size XS in this photos, and I could probably even go down another size if I wanted them to be more form-fitting. They run very big, which I’m okay with! And they are probably the softest pair of leggings I’ve ever touched. They feel like butter – legit.
On top of that, this sweater is so cozy and extremely warm. I’d size down in this baby also since the sleeves run a little long and tend to stretch with wear. My mules are a savvy find from Amazon, but I’ve linked a few that are very similar and have included some budget friendly options.
PS. ICYMI, here’s a great Thanksgiving dinner outfit option.
Less than a week from Thanksgiving?! What. Is. Happening?! Time is traveling a million miles a minute and I can’t seem to slow it down. I wore this look to work this week, but thought it would be the perfect Thanksgiving dinner outfit, too. I love the color of these pants. In fact I’m really into all wine/burgandy things this season. Especially if they are velvet! But I digress.
This year our family is headed up to New York to celebrate with my parents and family. We get to briefly see my sister and her boyfriend, who are flying in for a wedding, which will be so awesome. I’m excited for the holidays this year since Finn is a little older and will actually get a sense of some of the things that are going on. He gets to eat Thanksgiving Dinner this year, which will be the best.
We usually get up to Rochester/Caledonia a few times a year, but we haven’t been up there since last Christmas! This year has been downright crazy so I’m glad we get to slow down and spend some time in my hometown. I’m sure we will be attempting to do some Black Friday shopping as well, however, we usually end up sleeping in and settling for brunch instead.
I remember when I first saw my favorite fashion bloggers rockin’ the OTK boots a few years back. Most of them were wearing this $798 Stuart Weitzman pair and I laughed until my abs hurt at the thought of spending that much money on boots! I also told myself that my soccer player legs would never fit into anything that looked like that, so I rolled my eyes and moved on with my life.
Two years later and OTK boots are still hanging around and with that, a ton of options have made their way onto the market. Can we all say a little “AMEN” for knock-offs?! (But seriously, do people really spend over $700 on boots?!)
I’ve come around to the idea of wearing OTK boots and have actually tried on a few pairs. Surprisingly, they fit over my calves and looked great! I’m still contemplating on which pair I’m going to go with, but there are a few on major sale right now so I thought I’d gather a list of the best ones I can find and maybe y’all can help me pick out the best pair?
Can’t beat Steve Madden quality! I love the low heel on these beauties. They come in a taupe color, too, which I actually like more, but I think black would be more versatile. These are currently 20% off making them under $100. I promise you these will be high quality!
You know what my favorite thing about David is? Okay, maybe one of my favorite things? He drops everything on a Monday at lunch to come take photos of me for my blog. He helps me “pose”, guides me on what looks nice, is learning how to operate a DSLR camera, and makes me laugh out loud in order to get these genuine photos of me.
When I started talking about doing this whole fashion blogger thing I kept talking myself out of it. Who am I to influence other people’s style? I don’t have the best clothes. I hate makeup. I would rather wear leggings and a hoodie than actual clothes. But every time I started losing faith in myself, David would encourage me. He would help pick out outfits and brainstorm content with me. He keeps me on track and I’m so grateful for that.
I think this blog is ever evolving since I’m still really trying to figure out what Simple & Inspired is at its core. One thing is for certain, the style posts aren’t going anywhere. I love taking these photos because of the silly moments that happen while David and I take them. Plus, he makes me look good, doesn’t he? 😉
On a completely separate note, about this look. I have to say, I think I’ve already gotten my monies worth out of these leggings and I’ve only had them a few months. I thought I knew what quality leggings were before, but these have changed my mind for the good. They are high waisted and suck everything in and are the comfiest things in the world. In addition, you NEED this cardigan. It’s so warm, has pockets!!! and goes with everything. This blouse is currently on sale and comes in a zillion colors. I have it in black and white and wish I had it in more. It’s perfect for work and over jeans, too. I’d size down one unless you are looking for a tunic look.
