If you’re a nursing mama like me, then you know how important it is to wear clothes that give you quick and comfortable access to the goods 🙂 . Today I rounded up six affordable and adorable nursing friendly dresses you can purchase this season.
1.Leith Bodycon Dress – This is the best dress ever! And it’s currently on sale. I own it in two colors and, even though it’s non-maternity, I wore it throughout my pregnancy. Right now 8 colors are on sale. I highly, HIGHLY recommend this dress!!! It’s perfect for spring with a light sweater, and can be worn into summer and even fall.
2.Madewell Cotton Tank – The absolute best basic tanks out there. This tank comes in a ton of colors and are under $20! Grab a bunch and you’ll be set for spring.
3.Old Navy Field Jacket – I have this jacket in maroon and it’s one of my favorite jackets. (And ask my husband, I have a TON of jackets!) This one is a perfect layering piece for spring. It comes in a ton of colors and is currently on sale.
4.Boyfriend Jeans – I’m really into the Boyfriend Jean trend that is making a comeback. Not only is the fit flattering on my shape, but the cropped length is perfect for this transitional weather. I have this pair from Old Navy and they are perfect! Make sure to size down.
5.AE Slip-on Sneakers – I live in these sneakers. In fact, I need a new pair because the ones I bought last year are already worn out and only because I wear them THAT MUCH. I love this blush color from American Eagle. Trust me, if you’re a mom, grab a pair of these. There’s something so wonderfully simple about slip on sneakers!
6.AE Jumpsuit – I will be living in jumpsuits this spring and summer. The simple ease of having one item of clothing is so appealing to me! Plus, the fit of these are so flattering.
7.AE Woven Mules – I linked these in my American Eagle Try-On Post, and I haven’t stopped thinking about them! I think I’m gonna pull the trigger on them since they will go with just about everything this spring – jeans, jumpsuits, even dresses!
8. Peplum Tee – This peplum tee is the perfect way to dress up a basic outfit. It’s so adorable, and the fit is perfect. It comes in white and gray, the best basics, and can be layered perfectly for spring.
I know. I know. It’s March. However these items came in my February Trunk from Trunk Club and I’m sharing them now.
If you don’t know about Trunk Club, you’re missing out. It’s a subscription service that sends you new clothes, shoes and accessories to try on in the comfort of your own home. If you like something, then you keep it. If you don’t, then you send it back. Simple as that! The best part is that everything is from Nordstrom and you get a personal stylist who sends you a preview of your Trunk prior to shipping it out. That way, if there is something that you know you want to try from Nordstrom you can just let them know and they will send it in your Trunk.
In February I asked my stylist for leisure/workout wear. I no longer have a need for work clothes, and my workout clothes currently consist of old soccer tees. She did a pretty good job of picking out great items (and even sent a pair of these Zella leggings that I already own two pairs of!).
Spanx Camo Pants & J.Crew Chambray Top
I was shocked at how much I liked these pants! They are buttery soft – duh! made by Spanx – and fit like a glove. The only reason I didn’t keep them is because I’m not a huge camo lover. But if these came in solid colors, I would wear them ALL THE TIME!
This chambray top is such great quality. I would’ve liked one size up, just for a looser fit. It’s something I would wear with a tie at the bottom, and the size she sent (small) was too short for that.
Zella Pink Crop Leggings & Alo Long Sleeve Top
If you don’t own a pair of Zella leggings, you’re missing out! They are the best quality leggings and at such an affordable price. These crop leggings are awesome, but the loud color was just not for me! I do own two pairs of Zella’s full length leggings and wear them all the time.
Alo is a brand I’ve heard of, but hadn’t tried until now. I did like this buttery soft top, but there were large slits up the side that turned me off. I like to buy clothing that is multi-functional, and with the slits, this felt like it was something I could only wear to the gym and not just hanging around my house. It’s super soft though!
Under Armour Workout Tee & Zella High Waist Leggings
I ended up keeping this Under Armour tee since I needed some new workout gear. I loved the open back detail and the thumb holes. It’s a dry-fit material, so great for running.
These Zella leggings were great – mainly because they are Zella! However, I’m not a huge fan of the cut-out look, so I sent them back. They are super cute though!
My stylist added some other pieces as well, but they didn’t fit me like I wanted them to. I’ve included a widget of everything that came in my box this month below.

American Eagle is making a comeback! In high school, American Eagle was my go-to store. They always had the best jeans, the kind that fit my curves and held up over time. I’m not really sure what made me stop shopping there, but I headed back in this weekend and wanted to buy everything! I did a mini try-on session today featuring mom jeans and the cutest mules! Enjoy!
I loved this look! I sized up in the sweater since it’s more of a cropped fit, but with functional buttons, I can nurse in it! Plus, this will be a perfect transitional piece into spring! These mom jeans are so cute! They fit as a mid-rise and I’m wearing my normal size. They come in a bunch of washes. And these mules might be my favorite shoes I’ve tried on in a long time! They are so comfortable and go with everything!
I switched out the cropped sweater for this red one that is more of a slim fit. I am wearing a small here and thought it fit well. Once again, nursing friendly buttons!
Oversized Button Down
I love this top! And it’s long enough to be worn with leggings!
Distressed Crew Neck Sweater
This sweater comes in a bunch of colors and is so soft! I chose a small, but would have preferred a medium for a more oversized fit!
I loved the fit of this jumpsuit. It hits just above the ankle and the thicker straps make it feel more mature to me. Unfortunately the buttons are not functional, but the back is stretchy, so it could work for nursing. I’m wearing a extra small and it fit great!
This jumpsuit would be perfect for a spring date night! The legs are full length and the back is stretchy, so it could work for nursing. I wasn’t a huge fan of the denim jacket, it fit really boxy, but I liked the look of this jumpsuit paired with light denim. I wore a small in the jumpsuit and jacket.
As I start to blog full-time, I realize that the one thing that really pulled me into blogging in the first place, besides storytelling, was shopping! I really am a shopaholic at heart, and I love to do these style sessions for you guys.
The biggest thing I’ve learned in the past few years is how important it is to dress for your body type, and to ensure that the pieces you are buying go well together. I recently did a closet clean-out (thanks Marie Kondo!) and got rid of all the items that were outside of my personal style and didn’t go with anything else that I had! Sometimes I get in the habit of buying a piece because it looks great on someone else just to realize that a. it doesn’t work on my body type and b. I have nothing to wear it with!
My hope by doing these style sessions is to help you dress for your body type (I’m a pear shape and I have child birthing hips!) and purchase outfits rather than items.
That being said, I have a fun Old Navy try-on for you today! Enjoy!
Leggings & Crew Neck
Wide Leg Jeans
Some things to note – both pairs of jeans I’m wearing are terrific for postpartum. They are high rise, and the straight leg pair suck everything in! They are fantastic!
